Check the Balance of a Gift Card
These Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”) govern the purchase, use, and management of gift cards and gift certificates (collectively referred to as “Cards”) issued by Gouverneur Inc. (“Gouverneur”). By purchasing, accepting, or using a Card, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with these terms, you should not purchase or use the Card.
1.About Your Card
Cards are issued by Gouverneur Inc. and its business partners: OTL Gouverneur, Boefish, and PAŪS Spa Expérience. Gouverneur Inc. is the sole legal debtor regarding the use of the Cards. Gift Cards can be purchased at participating locations, while promotional gift certificates are distributed through loyalty programs, rewards, or promotions. Merchandise purchased with a Card is subject to the merchant’s return policy.
2. Balance Information & Inquiries
You can check your Gift Card balance online, but please note that the displayed balance is an estimate. The balance is generally updated immediately after a purchase, but delays may occur. The balance of promotional gift certificates cannot be checked online.
3.Using Your Card
You may use up to five Gift Cards or Gift Certificates per transaction.
If your purchase exceeds the balance on the Card, you must cover the remaining amount with another payment method.
If your purchase is less than the balance on the Card, the remaining amount can be used for future purchases. For purchases made with a promotional gift certificate, any unused balance will be forfeited.
Items purchased with a Gift Card and later returned are subject to the merchant’s return policy. If a refund applies, it will be issued as a credit on a Gift Card unless required by law.
4. Purchase Limits & Restrictions
You may purchase up to five Gift Cards of $1,000 CAD each, for a total not exceeding $1,000 CAD per transaction. If you wish to purchase more Cards or exceed this amount, please contact us directly.
Gift Cards cannot be used to purchase other Cards or be exchanged for cash, except as required by law.
5. Card Expiration
Gift Cards do not expire, in accordance with applicable laws.
Promotional Gift Certificates may have an expiration date depending on the specific promotion. Please check the terms of each promotional certificate for its validity period.
6. Fees
No service, inactivity, or other fees will be applied to your Card unless required by law.
7. Redemption & Use
Cards can only be used to purchase products and services at participating locations in Canada.
Cards have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for cash, except as required by law.
Cards cannot be used to purchase another Card.
8. No Refunds
Cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash, except where required by law.
If you are dissatisfied with a purchase made using a Card, you must refer to the merchant’s return policy.
9. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Cards
If a Card is lost, stolen, or damaged, it must be reported immediately. However, the value of the Card will not be replaced.
Gouverneur Inc. is not responsible for lost or stolen Cards.
10. Limitation of Liability
Gouverneur Inc. and its business partners disclaim all express or implied warranties regarding the Cards, including but not limited to any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
If a Card is defective, your sole remedy is its replacement.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties, so certain terms may be adjusted based on local laws.
11. Changes to Agreement
Gouverneur Inc. reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time at its sole discretion. Any changes will be communicated through reasonable means, including but not limited to posting the revised version on our website. You will be informed of significant changes via email or updates to this page.
